The Inner and Outer Dimensions of an Ecological Civilization
with Jeremy Lent and Lisa Ferguson
Part of the Engaged Nonduality Series
This event builds on the release of Jeremy Lent’s book, Ecocivilization: Making a World That Works for All, which envisions a world system that sets the conditions for all to flourish on a regenerated earth. Jeremy and Lisa will explore this vision from the depth of nondual understanding.
If the root of our Metacrisis is separation, then the nondual recognition of non-separation is essential to responding skillfully. This is the deeper basis for any lasting systemic change that may occur.
If you are feeling despair about our world, one of the core tenets of Ecocilivation is that there is an alternative. One not of empty hope, but of grounded possibility. One that welcomes our engagement, unique gifts and contributions.
About the book:
As climate chaos, inequality, and social fragmentation intensify, humanity faces an imminent choice: continue with a system built on extraction and endless growth, or reimagine civilization itself.
Jeremy Lent offers that reimagination: an ecocivilization, grounded in proven design principles of ecosystems and in humankind’s evolved inclination toward justice, mutuality, and dignity.
One of the things we love about this vision is that it is not a blueprint handed down from on high, but rather an invitation to co-create, making visible the visionary work already taking place around the world.
The session will include meditation, a presentation by Jeremy, Q&A, group engagement and practice. Jeremy will share about Ecocivilization, and Jeremy and Lisa will both explore the deeper roots of the inner dimensions through nondual understanding, which will invite us into a grounded expression of love that knows no bounds.
It’s truly a joy to welcome Jeremy back to this series not only as a brilliant thinker and writer, but also as my life partner! We’re looking forward to weaving the inner and outer dimensions of civilization-level transformation for our troubled world, informed by our deepest love and wisdom.

About the Engaged Nonduality Series
This Engaged Nonduality series, hosted by Lisa Ferguson, explores how nondual wisdom may respond to our world in crisis. We live in a time of multiple intersecting crises that threaten the wellbeing of all life, including climate breakdown, unaligned tech and AI, injustice, war and authoritarianism. The recognition of nonduality has much to offer in these times, including a deep knowing of nonseparation, as well as access to the a wise and creative response emerging from our collective wholeness.

Lisa has worked closely with John Prendergast as a mentee and co-leader of Engaged Nonduality offerings, and has facilitated a meditative inquiry group for several years.
Based on her experience as a change agent and organizer, she founded Climate Compassion in 2015 to support the inner and outer work of responding to our planetary crises with wise action and a compassionate heart.
