Georgia Simone ~ Awakened Healing: Become The Space Where Healing Takes Place

Sunday, July 16, 2023 @ 9:00am-11:00am (Pacific Time)

Welcome to The Holding Space.

A space where we can gather together and BE exactly as we are

A space where the full spectrum of your human experience is invited

Calm, anxious, open, closed,

ALL is welcome here.

It's in this gentle embrace that everything can start to unravel. It's in this open space that we can begin to unwind the strategies that no longer serve us. This is the space that early mis-attunement failed to foster, the space where love blooms and new life can emerge. This is the space where all that quivers and shakes can come to rest, and where all that contorts can untwist into greater alignment.

Through gentle exploration and somatic awareness you can cultivate a new way of being with your most challenging patterns. No longer a victim of the push and pull of inner disturbance, you can step forward with greater confidence, knowing that whatever comes your way, you embody the resilience and the capacity to meet and integrate it.

You can expect a deeply held space where you’ll be invited to slow down, tune in, and track your present-moment experience. As you awaken and refine a more subtle way of Being and Being With, you can slowly but surely become the space – the container and the field – where healing takes place.

Bio:
The first leg of Georgia Simone’s path exposed her to the teachings of Advaita Vedanta, which provided her with the foundation she needed to disidentify from pain and suffering. However, despite a growing freedom, a significant bypass took place, as her orientation towards transcendence reinforced her deep disconnection from Life. Upon seeing this, her focus became addressing the unresolved trauma that had woven its way into every fibre of her being.

During this period, Georgia was influenced by Inner Relationship Focusing, a presence based approach that works with the Felt Sense and the split-off parts of self. She also trained as a NARM informed practitioner, which addresses developmental trauma from a psychotherapeutic perspective. Her approach is now a seamless blend of mystical insight and psychological understanding.

After many years of wading through this marshland of conditioning, she shares her discoveries with others. She believes that the spiritual path is as much about arriving here fully – as an embodied human being – as it is about dissolving into the infinite source that makes this life possible. How can we die to the absolute, while deeply embracing our relative human experience? This Living Inquiry is her Life’s prayer.

A 2-Part Weekend Retreat
August 12 & 13, 2023

Time Zone Converter
Recording will be emailed to participants after each meeting.
You're welcome to join even if you can't attend all the live sessions.

If you ever experience yourself as not good enough, bad, unlovable, unworthy, or powerless, you are experiencing core shame. You are not alone. Shame is in all of us to some degree.

It is a case of mistaken identity when we identify with a conditioned part of ourselves rather than with the Wholeness of who we are in both our humanness and Source Nature. This, along with negative conditioning, creates core shame, which is a significant obstacle to health, happiness, healthy relationships, and success. It affects every aspect of our life.

To truly heal core shame, we need to remember who we really are—a vast being of pure love. Then it is possible, along with therapeutic assistance and support, to meet and resolve the negative programming and wounding that creates a negative sense of self. As these false identities fall away, we embody more self-love.

This weekend event will offer a deep immersion into this issue so that you can begin to understand and directly experience being free of core shame. Lynn Marie brings extensive experience, both personally and professionally, with both spiritual awakening and healing our body-mind. She will offer insight and skills on freeing yourself from shame on all levels—somatically, mentally and spiritually.

Participant feedback: “With Lynn Marie, I get in an embodied way that my human experience is workable. I greatly appreciate her unique way of including and working with the human nervous system, conditioning and relationship as the very path of ever-evolving spiritual awakening. For me, she is naturally and powerfully transmitting a unique energy that is lovingly embracing simultaneously the finite and the Infinite, the human and the Divine.”

Lynn Marie Lumiere is a seasoned psychotherapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and author. She offers a rare blend of embodied spiritual wisdom with a skilled therapeutic approach that facilitates healing of psychological trauma/wounding and the embodiment of awakening. Her depth of experience, rooted in her own healing and awakening journey, spans decades of expertly guiding individuals in the resolution of their trauma and into connection with their true nature. She is a trustworthy and competent guide for both healing and freedom on all levels, with a natural empathy for the human struggle that is born of her own life process. She is also the author of Awakened Relating: A Guide to Embodying Undivided Love in Intimate Relationships.

Julian Misliuc ~ On Fire For The Real

Friday, August 18, 2023 @ 9:00am-11:00am (Pacific Time)

At some moment in time something was sparked in us, some kind of opening, knowing or inspiration which drew us to spiritual work. Even though we look back at these moments of inspiration as important turning points in our life, we generally miss the deeper message. That spark isn’t simply a moment of clarity or greater connection, but rather our own Divinity making itself known. In this meeting we will explore how this inspiration is our truest guide, and that what initially had been a spark can become an all consuming fire. The more we offer ourselves to the spark the more we catch on fire, which in turn transmutes every aspect of our life. Fire is discomfort, fire is strength, fire is transmutation, fire is love, fire is the Holy bringing us back to ourselves. We will have time for meditation, a talk on the topic and an opportunity for exchanges.

Julian's strength of presence deepens and amplifies people's direct connection with their True Nature. He carries a gentleness, delicacy and precision for integrating all aspects of our humanity in the process of awakening. His intuitive capacity supports people in finding the root of what challenges them most and encourages a steady awakening to reality. Julian has a background in practicing with multiple spiritual masters, as well as training in men’s work, group work, energetic bodywork, and post traumatic growth somatic therapy. He brings a holistic approach to helping people heal, rest into their True Nature and embody who they really are.

Together we will explore the topic of trust along with suggestions on how to relax into the unknown.

Dorothy Hunt ~ Clarity, Conditioning, and Transformation: pre-retreat taster event

Friday, September 8, 2023 @ 9:00am-10:30am (Pacific Time)

In the words of Zen master Dogen:
“Those who have great realization of delusion are buddhas;
those who are greatly deluded about realization are sentient beings.”
(from Genjo Koan)

This event is a “taste” of the upcoming weekend retreat, complimentary for retreat registrants, also available as a standalone experience. It can be seen as part of the longer retreat format, or simply as an opportunity to familiarize yourself with Dorothy, her teaching style, and the topic before deciding whether to join the weekend retreat.

Dorothy will preview what you might expect from the upcoming two-day retreat. There will be a guided meditation and an overview of the topic: Clarity, Conditioning and Transformation.

Everyone deals with conditioning, but when we stop judging that it should not be here and become curious about its energies rather than our well-worn, (and often intellectually analyzed) narrative based on a separate “self," there is an opportunity to meet conditioning with clear seeing rather than resistance. This inherently open, aware, and compassionate clarity begins to transform our relationship to conditioning, whether or not it continues to arise.  Freedom does not require being rid of anything that exists in the wholeness of being, from this perspective.  And yet, seeing the myriad ways the conditioned mind returns us to an egoic trance state is part of the ongoing-ness of seeing through illusion. No judgment and a good bit of humor around this “human thing” can help tremendously!

The deep work of spiritual transformation begins when we have lost our fascination with both spiritual entertainment and polishing egos.  We become unhooked from the fantasy of a perfected “self" and become more interested in authenticity and integrity, realizing there is no separate someone to be “only Awareness.” Yet what is awake and aware is ever-present and never separate from the moment as it is.

Dorothy Hunt currently serves as Spiritual Director of Moon Mountain Sangha, teaching at the request and in the spiritual lineage of Adyashanti. The flavor of her teaching blends Advaita and Zen with a deep welcoming of the human expressions of the Mystery. Dorothy is the founder of the San Francisco Center for Meditation and Psychotherapy, and practiced psychotherapy from 1967 until her retirement in 2020.  She is the author of Only This!, Leaves from Moon Mountain, and Ending the Search: From Spiritual Ambition to the Heart of Awareness. In addition, she is a contributing author to two books on Nondual Wisdom and Psychotherapy, and the editor of Love: A Fruit Always in Season.

Presently, Dorothy offers satsang and retreats via Zoom, and dokusan by phone. For more information, please visit www.dorothyhunt.org
