Dorothy Hunt ~ In the Wholeness of Being – Can Anything Be Excluded?

Saturday, April 11, 2026 @ 10:00am-12:00pm (Pacific Time)

In this online exploration with Dorothy Hunt, we will look at how—before, and even after authentic awakenings or powerful glimpses—the conditioned mind imagines only certain thoughts, feelings, behaviors, etc. should arise and not others. Egoic thought wants only the good, the beautiful and the true to be the experience of life. But life is whole, and its expression in form is constantly flowing, continually changing. The Light that illuminates our shadows, our joys and our sufferings, holds our freedom.

What is awake to the ever-changing faces of experience? What does it mean to be aligned with our deepest truth rather than our ideas, especially our “spiritual” ideas? Perhaps we may discover that Truth cannot be separated from the moment, nor ultimately from Love. As Lex Hixon once wrote: “Knowledge is the flower; love is the fragrance.”

Inside the skull there is a place
Where the essences of creation play and mingle—
The ecstatic light of awareness
and the awareness of that light.

—Lorin Roche, The Radiance Sutras

Dorothy Hunt currently serves as Spiritual Director of Moon Mountain Sangha, teaching at the request and in the spiritual lineage of Adyashanti. The flavor of her teaching blends Advaita and Zen with a deep welcoming of the human expressions of the Mystery. Dorothy is the founder of the San Francisco Center for Meditation and Psychotherapy, and practiced psychotherapy from 1967 until her retirement in 2020. She is the author of Only This!, Leaves from Moon Mountain, and Ending the Search: From Spiritual Ambition to the Heart of Awareness.
