Jeannie Zandi ~ I–It to I–Thou: Restoring Reverence

Sunday, April 12, 2026 @ 10:00am-12:00noon (Pacific Time)

We can move through the world reducing life to objects—things to use, fix, attain, or eliminate. In this mode, others become roles, functions, or reflections of our own needs, and even we ourselves can begin to feel flattened, distant, or unfulfilled.

This is what Martin Buber called the I–It relationship.

There is another way of being–a way of meeting life that is alive, reverent, at sea—where we are slow to define and objectify, and instead meet the other as a presence, from our own presence. In this way of relating, we do not stand apart from life, but enter into a living experience of it. This is the I–Thou relationship—the ground of reverence, where we invoke the sacred by our willingness to see through its eyes.

Through meditation, guided meditation, a talk and shared inquiry, we will explore the difference between I-It and I-Thou and explore ways to restore reverence to our relating.

About Jeannie Zandi
Jeannie Zandi is a nondual spiritual teacher and guide for embodied awakening, inviting students to fully inhabit their human lives with presence, clarity, and love. Known for her fierce tenderness, irreverent wisdom, and unwavering presence, she creates powerful spaces for transformation, where truth is met in the raw, and awakening moves beyond concept into lived reality.

Her work bridges the mystical and the practical, inviting students to embrace every aspect of experience—joy, challenge, and the mundane—as fuel for awakening. Rather than transcending life, she calls us to root in it, maturing into authentic expressions of love, serving the whole with wisdom and heart.
