SUMMARY:Satsang with Stephen D'Amico: Presence and Direct Inquiry
DESCRIPTION:Join author and spiritual teacher Stephen D’Amico for Satsang—a gathering dedicated to the shared recognition of our true nature. \nIn this session\, Stephen will energetically shift you out of the narrative of the seeker and draw you into the silent presence that is already here. \nFollowing a brief meditation and a reflection on the mechanics of awakening\, the floor will open for personalized guidance and deep inquiry. \nWhether you’d like the opportunity to ask your most pressing spiritual questions\, or simply wish to resonate in a palpable field of heightened awareness\, this space will help clarify the way things are. \nStephen D’Amico spent much of his early life connected to the enlightened state of being and attained full self-realization at age 22. For nearly three decades\, he has been teaching and guiding others on the path. Based in Toronto\, he runs an urban ashram where he hosts Satsang and offers spiritual direction. His books include Heaven On Earth: A Guide to Enlightenment & Human Unity (2005)\, The Incredible State of Absolute Nothingness: A Personal Account of Spiritual Enlightenment (2013)\, and The Lost Book of Mystical Insights: Pointers & Reminders (2023). \nTo learn more and connect with Stephen D’Amico\, please visit his website: stephendamico.com \n  \nWatch Stephen share about The Four Cardinal Movements To Awaken Our True Nature: \n\n  \nSliding Scale: $15 to $40\nNo one turned away for lack of funds.\nIf you can’t pay within the sliding scale\, just contact us to let us know what you can contribute.\nAddress inquiries to web@opencirclecenter.org\nREGISTER \nTo check your local time\, use a tool such as: Time Zone Converter

SUMMARY:Beth Miller ~ VULNERABILITY – A SUPERPOWER (In-Person)
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to a satsang with Beth Miller where we will explore spiritual awakening and vulnerability. \nTogether\, let’s dive into what we know in our essence . . . opening to an ever-deepening realization that what we are in the truest sense is an inside job – an inward surrendering of anything and everything that is in the way of knowing\, living\, being and expressing our true nature of loving being-ness. A courageous surrendering . . .a trusting vulnerability. \nOften\, we humans\, shy away from vulnerability. We have been taught it is weak\, unattractive\, needy; even failure. And yet\, let’s stand back for a moment . . . \nIn a welcoming circle of kinship let’s explore the beauty\, the fears\, and profundity of vulnerability. \nWe are whole and holy beings . . . naturally soft and tender . . . aching to be fully alive and free – longing to know the vulnerability of our interconnectedness; called to being totally at One with our sacred humanity and all of Life. \nAs counter-intuitive as it appears\, being vulnerable . . . naked in the sun . . . is holding hands with the Divine. \nBIO\nBeth Miller is a spiritual teacher\, psychotherapist\, and author devoted to deepening in our true nature and living in loving relationship with all of life. Her work weaves psychological depth with direct spiritual inquiry into presence\, love and wholeness. After raising 2 sons and completing her doctoral study in psychology\, Beth taught at California Institute of Integral Studies and UCSF\, maintained a private practice and led workshops in resilience. Her first book\, The Woman’s Book of Resilience: 12 Qualities to Cultivate\, was published in 2005\, and came from her doctoral dissertation. Through teaching\, writing and private sessions\, Beth shares from lived experience. \nBeth studied and followed Adyashanti\, David Hawkins\, Mooji and Jan Frazier. In 2013\, she spent a week one-on-one with Jan Frazier in Vermont. Jan is heart-based\, and “ignited the same heart flame” in Beth. Later\, in a three-day retreat with Jan in Mill Valley\, “three things happened simultaneously. “I felt an intense burning sensation in my gut\, radiating throughout my entire body\, and all barriers between me and the people in the room\, the room itself\, the great outdoors fell away\, and the reality of being everyone and everything was as clear as clear could be. The oneness of it all felt incredibly ordinary – in the sense of having known this all along and just now remembering; it felt so completely natural\, so matter-of-fact. The third\, and by far\, the most difficult to express is the immensity of love that washed through me\, arose in and all around me…. love that was beyond anything I could express and bigger than anything I could imagine. It was over-powering in an indelible and stunningly glorious way. In retrospect\, I can see how the last 12 years has been a deepening into the expression of love.” \nIn her most recent book\, Awakening is Not for the Faint of Heart\, she shares her own journey through Long Covid and inner transformation\, inviting readers into an honest\, courageous\, and compassionate engagement with life exactly as it is. \nBeth’s website: www.bethmillerphd.com \nRick Archer – Batgap 3/22 interview with Beth: https://batgap.com/beth-miller/ \nAwareness Explorer Interview with Beth: www.awarenessexplorers.com/podcast/episode/1ad4fd5d/198-beth-miller-guest-explorer \nNo pre-registration required\n*** Just show up & pay at the door ***\nSuggested donation: $15 to $30\nNo one turned away for lack of funds \n***Connie Barbour Room***\nBerkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists (BFUU)\nUpstairs\, behind the main BFUU building at the corner of Cedar and Bonita.\nPlease enter through the courtyard gate at 1606 Bonita.\nThen enter the building through the first entrance on the left.\nProceed up the stairs to the Connie Barbour Room. \nPARKING: There is street parking in the neighborhood. \nFor inquiries contact LocalEvents@opencirclecenter.org \nIf you have symptoms of a respiratory infection\, or have had a recent\nCovid exposure or positive test\, please stay home out of consideration for others \n
