SUMMARY:Ryan Burton ~ The Awareness Release & Reverse Method
DESCRIPTION:The Awareness Release & Reverse Method\nAn Approach That Reverses Everything You’ve Been Taught About Meditation \nFor centuries\, meditation instruction has rested on a single assumption: that awareness must be held. Whether directed at the breath or turned back upon the mind itself in non-dual inquiry\, the instruction is the same — apply effort\, sustain attention\, and don’t let go. The result is a state of focus that is genuinely useful\, but which remains conditioned and maintained by concentration. \nThis workshop teaches the opposite. \nRather than sustaining awareness\, you will be instructed to release it. The first objection is the obvious one: how is that any different from ordinary distracted life? That question is precisely where the work begins. The subtleties that separate genuine release from ordinary inattention will be pointed out directly\, examined\, and practiced together. \nThe aim is not to acquire a new technique. It is to bring to rest the grasping\, efforting\, and attempting functions of the mind — the very machinery that keeps the present moment feeling like something to be reached rather than something already fully here. \nThis session is suited to practitioners who have some meditation experience\, who may have had genuine openings\, and who find themselves working harder and harder for something that seems to recede as they approach it. Beginners are welcome; no prior familiarity with non-dual teaching is required. \nExpect direct pointing\, guided practice\, and open dialogue. \nGet to know Ryan through these short videos: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRyan Burton is a meditation teacher and guide in the non-dual traditions\, with over seventeen years of practice across Dhammakaya Theravada\, Dzogchen\, Vedanta\, and Zen. He teaches post-awakening integration — the territory that opens after the initial recognition. His work also draws on Tibetan Buddhism\, Dream Yoga\, and Robert Monroe’s Focus Levels system. \nFind out more about Ryan: www.afterawakening.com\nYouTube: @afterawakening072 \nSliding Scale: $15 to $40\nHowever\, no one turned away for lack of funds.\nIf you can’t pay within the sliding scale\, contact us to let us know what you can contribute.\nAddress inquiries to web@opencirclecenter.org \nREGISTER \nThe event will be recorded and emailed to participants within a week.\nTo check your local time\, use a tool such as: Time Zone Converter
